A beautiful day

Beautiful day today, only a couple of inches of snow and a bit warmer than earlier in the week so I went out and took a few pictures.  There is only a couple of inches of snow here

 My Christmas Cactus is blooming again.

Fairy Doors

I had never heard about them until today, 
Apparently you need to put fairy doors in your house because Fairies get tired of coming and going through regular mouse hole and such, and little girls love fairies.

A friend of mine got these at the Dahlem Environmental Education Center, in Jackson.  They were made by Emily, and some of her students.  If you want more information about Fairy doors,  a google search came up with 2, 420, 000 result.

Today's positive:   Setting in side snug and warm, watching the cold sleety rain outside.

A new creation I completed last night

I used Red Hart Sashay yarn.  On the skein it looks like ribbon, when you pull it apart it looks like fish net.
I used the pattern I found on Youtube;  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOhDl9gxD5I.  It is basically crochet slip stitches.  It took me about an hour to make.  I tried using the patterns on the label and a couple of others I found on youtube an other knitting sites, but trying to do a regular crochet or knit seems like a real pain in the behind.  This was so easy, it is about 5 1/2 feet long and took less than one skein.

The cool thing for today. After getting home from what seemed like long day at work. I got a phone call from a friend/relative telling me she had a couple of old pictures that she says is my grandmother, and she thinks may be my father. She is going to ship them to me. We will see who they are when they get here. Thanks Connie
